She is indeed a lovely lady cat. We're hoping a family will adopt her in time for the winter holidays. That would be a wonderful gift for everyone involved :)
Thanks, Nadine! She actually is available right now to anyone in the area. We've posted fliers at the SHS for potential adopters who go there to look for a kitty, but no inquiries about her so far. Crossing our fingers and toes!
Hey everyone! My girlfriend, myself, and our wonderful kitty Bluto (who could pass for her twin) adopted wonderful little Jada last night. I am happy to report that she is eating, drinking, and eliminating just fine. She spent her first night with us last night in our office. She is such a curious little cutie. There are plenty of places for her to hide, but she is not bashful. She hangs out right in the open underneath my desk. She is still kind of unsure of us, as she gets a little bit hissy, but no strikes, and she will let us pet her for a second. Bluto has taken a keen interest in her, and for a second, was only set on defending his territory, but that was over in less than 2 minutes. Now he just wants to be her friend. Jada doesn't want anything of it at this point though. She seemed interested at first, but has now resorted to hissing and growling at him :D
Bluto mreowls, Jada growls. Its pretty cute. Thank you Leslie and Dieter for taking care of her so well!
Awww, Trevor. You're so very welcome! Thanks for the update so soon after taking Jada home. Bluto sounds like a gentleman :). Be patient, big brother! Jada will come around when she's ready.
The kitties here are available for adoption through the Seattle Humane Society. They get lots of love and attention in our home while patiently waiting for the right parent(s) to come along. We work very hard to connect the kitties with families of their own, so if you're interested in any of our fosters, please send us an e-mail. We'll be happy to help you through the adoption process with the SHS.
Our current feature foster
There are no fosters in our home at this time, but there are many kitties in need of families at the Seattle Humane Society! Please check out the profiles of potential adoptees here.
The adoption process
In order to adopt one of our kitties, you must complete an adoption application and submit it to the Seattle Humane Society. More information on SHS adoption policies and fees is available on the SHS website.
To speak with someone at the SHS about adoptions, please call (425) 649-7563.
I can't adopt; how else can I help?
Nothing helps more than spreading the word! Subscribe to or follow this blog and send our link on to other people you know. Even if they're not looking for a feline friend, they may know someone who is. And if anything, you get to share the happiness of adorable kitties going about their daily lives chez Kittitas.

You write about her so warm-heartedly, and take such wonderful photos, that she's got to be adopted the very second she's available!

Actually those come hither eyes would make a great adoption shot! You and Dieter are doing a great job with the shots... black cats aren't easy!
Thanks, Lisa! We are cranking out more fliers to post this weekend in other public spaces. Time to step up the publicity :)
