Hope everyone had a good holiday and happy new year!

It's my first whole day back at the office away from Sara after two weeks. We left her snoozing under the covers as usual. She seems well and was quite the chowhound over the holidays. I was amazed at how often she wanted food. I'm also happy that she's on a canned, mostly meat diet now. Her tummy sensitivities and urinary condition prompted me to read up on cat nutrition, how cats need moisture in their food, don't digest grains well, and to stay away from foods based on meat meals and by-products, which can be very nasty stuff. I've also learned some really disturbing things about the commercial pet food industry, though not surprising considering what we know about the commercial meat industry. :(

Over the past day or so, her appetite has slowed a bit, and her tummy got upset for the first time in over a week. She's continuing her ulcer meds (similar to Pepto-Bismol), though she's finished her course of anti-nausea meds. She seems to be using the kitty box on a much more regular basis.

Otherwise, she's very active and loves to snuggle when the opportunity's there (I'm on the bed or couch). However, despite so many comfy places for her to snooze, one of her favorites is this narrow woven tray on the sink counter in the guest bathroom. I added some extra padding to make it more cushy, but the thing is a little small for her, and she tends to spill over the sides, but she apparently doesn't mind.

I'll try to get a picture to Leslie for posting. Oh, and another funny thing! She loves chasing her tail around and around when she's in the kitchen!

Thank you so much for the update, Esther! Glad to hear Sara is feeling better and that she's keeping up her reputation as an insatiable snuggler :)
