Outtakes

Our fosters don't always make themselves easy to photograph, but going after a good shot sometimes gives us the chance to try experiencing the world from a kitty's point of view.

When I was trying to catch Missy on top of the laundry room cabinets, I just couldn't get a good angle on her face from below.

So, I thought, why not kneel on top of the dryer?

Hmm, problem: still not tall enough to use the viewfinder. But I can hold the camera over my head and hope I'm aiming in the right place ...

Er, not quite. How about this?

Over to the right a little more ...

Gah, out of focus! Come on, camera ...

Almost ...

Over here, Missy ...

Ah HA!

Okay, now how do I get down from here? Gulp.

I've always been impressed by our kitties' climbing abilities, but by the time I was done, I had a new appreciation for how effortless they make it look.

Excellent description. And I'm so glad that you kept all the outtakes. Lots of fun to see how humans try so hard at what kitties do so easily

lol i love her faces!! she definitely thinks you're a nutjob. :p

so far, i've only been the other way - crouching and laying on the ground, trying to get down to their level. many, many "outtakes."

ROFL!! I have many similar "outtake" series!! I do admire you being so intrepid as to climb, though, Leslie. Got to admit, I keep feet firmly planted on terra firma and just reach up and shoot blind!

I have no idea what possessed me that day. And I was still shooting blind once I got up there! Glad you all were amused :)
